Subject: Surfer Magazine, the begining
When John Severson first started Surfer magazine, my dad was one of the contributing photographers. In return for these services John made up a hand full of Vol1, #1 Surfer magazines that he specially bound in hard back and signed. He gave these to only a couple of people. I am fortunate enough to own one of these. I would like to sell it. It is pretty much a one of a kind, and is in great condition. If you are a serious collector of Surfing Collectibles, then this is for you.

...I...hope you continue to enjoy LEGENDARY SURFERS.
Two particular features of the site you may find useful:

* LEGENDARY SURFERS via email -- You can test drive this service for two weeks under no obligation and no cost. Excerpts of my writing are sent directly to your computer in email form, 5 days/week. After the trial period, if you want to continue, it's only $10/year. The email excerpts are generally taken from material not available on the website itself. It's a nice way to start a non-surfing day.

* LEGENDARY SURFERS Updates -- You can automatically receive notification whenever the LEGENDARY SURFERS website is updated.

If you are interested in either of these services (email or updates), just reply to this email and specify which one or both.

HI there,
...This is not a hoax or bs.
The pics are of an evolved design called principly a "HYDRO GLIDER". Conventional shaped boards are in principle "planing hydro craft". That means to a surfer who's come to grips with this board, and it takes about 3 to 4 rides, will shred. The Fat Penguin's ability to go places where conventional boards can't, will be seen in near future video reference. Feedback has been our driving force and we value your ideas or comments. In the near future we also will be distrbuting info packs regarding details of contacts buisness address mailing ETC.

Subject: WTB: Bahne East Coast Standard
Interested in finding an 8' or longer Bahne East Coast Standard from the early to mid 70's. Board should be in good, clean, watertight condition, but need not be "original" or "perfect" - I intend to ride it, not hang it on a wall! Willing to negotiate a mutually acceptable price, but won't be gouged. Also somewhat interested in: other Bahne's of this period and older; early to mid 1970's Hansen V-bottom transition boards in the 8' range.. I have a 7'3" 1975 Something Special single fin (by Bob Lacovara out of Surfers Supplies in Ocean City, NJ). Board is in fair-to-good condition, but the variable fin box has been resin-filled. Will sell reasonably to an interested party.

Subject: Greg Noll Transition Board for sale
From: Fynn Wilson <fynn@gateway.net>
I have a Greg Noll transition board that is in rough shape, although all the dings have been patched. The Model is "The Ironing Board" and it is 7'6" X 22.5. There is some pen and ink art on the deck and the bottom. There is a large lexan box fin of unknown (at least to me) origins. I am guessing the board was made in '68 or early '69. I will sell it for 195.00 If you are in the Ventura area the board is presently in the used board rack at Ventura Surf Shop.

Subject: Greetings from that surfing mecca of Warsaw Poland
Dzien Dobry from Poland, I have what's probably the only collection of Surf Movie Posters in Poland, if not Central Europe, and I'm always looking to expand my collection. Can you recommend any websites or catalogues? Where beyond E-Bay shoulfd I go to learn more? Do you know of any links? Any Illistrated Guides to Surf Movie Posters? Am I insane to think there would be? www.surfclassics.com is cool, but it's only posters from the 60's, they're are no prices because they're not for sale. How can I find out the value of my original Endless Summer or Angry Sea posters? Help!
I'll send Perogis to the most helpful of you...

Subject: Wanted Items
Aloha, Keleko,
Looking for a couple of items and I hope y'all can help me out.

1. Any copy of Surfer magazine from the late 60's with an advertisement for the Dewey Weber Feather surfboard. I have a few of these boards, but no paper information, such as ads.

2. 9' to 9'-6" TIKI pop-out from the mid 60's. This was my first "new" board, and I'd like to see if I can find another one. Orange would be nice, but . . .
Great idea for a web site. Keep it up!
